Decorative works

In France, felt decorative panels featuring thematic, figurative, ornamental, colour compositions have attained the name of “soft painting”. To assist handwork, mechanised needle-felting techniques are used to implement the ideas of works. Hand-dyed wool fluff compositions of future works are laid out on a strong linen, cotton or woollen fabric. Soft pictures are then stitched and brought to a felt factory in Anykščiai (IĮ “Fetras“) where they turn into integral paintings after being processed with thousand-needle felting machines.
